This is a list or a cronical of the McConnell family in the USA. The first ones settled in Lena Gail [could be Jena Gall or some other variation] in the state of Penn then moved to Sails Berry NC in an early day before the Revolutionary War. Their names were John, Wat and William. John and children was named Elbert. Then moved to KY and settled on 1640 acres of land and I hear that they are doing well (Tern KY). Wat and children all left the country and I think they went to GA or TN. William and children were named as follows; The first was John then William, James and Alexander. John and family are all dead. William and family, a few of them reside in NC yet. James moved to Overton Co, TN and settled and I recall some reside there yet. Alexander married Reba or Reca McClan to whom 3 sons and 1 daughter. Their names were John Armstrong, William and James A. and Jane Melise. Alex died at age 32 and his widow died in 1872 at the age of 91.

[47989] In the 1880 census, his middle initial looked like a P. However, it must have been an A since later records showed his middle name was Alexander.
