"In 1859 Thomas Parkinson had the Third grade, Fairfield schools-- $35 per
month. A primary school opened on the 5th of May, in one of the rooms of
Mungo Ramsey's house, with Mrs. Jane Parkinson installed as teacher, at a
salary of $20 per month."

"DIED-- In Fairfield, on the 15th inst., Mrs. Jane B. Parkinson, aged 38
years. A christian wife and mother, whose loss will always be felt by an
affectionate husband and three orphan children."
