Obituary:

Elkanah P. Thomas died at his home in Warsaw Saturday evening, after an illness of several months caused from an attack of paralysis, aged 82 years, 3 months, and 12 days.

He was first married to Margaret McConnell to which union were born seven children, five sons and two daughters. His first companion died leaving to his care a family of small children, the eldest of whom was 14 years, and on November 11,
1866, he was again united in marriage to Mrs. Zilpha Ramsey. To this union nine children were born, seven of whom are living, A.J., A.P. and James Thomas and Mrs. W.H. Roberts, well known in and near Argos, being of the number. (sic) Of the
children born to both unions thirteen survive.

Funeral services were held Monday at Stoney Point church in Kosciusko county and interment in that cemetery.

Elkaniah Thomas, aged 83 years, 3 months, and 12 days, died Sept. 23rd at the family home at Millwood. The funeral was held at Stony Point, the burial being made at that place by N. A. Lehman.
