I see you've researched most of the McConnells in Pa. I have a brick wall in John McCutchen McConnell born western Pa. Dec 25, 1789. He was apprenticed to a tailor in Cannonsburg when he was 16. I have searched Washington Co. for apprentice papers with no luck. He could have been from a neighboring county. At 21 he left Pa. and went to Ky. His biography in a Ky. book says he went to Greenupsburg and from there to Woodford Co. I know there were McConnells there but he didn't stay there but went to Prestonsburg where he taught school and studied law with a noted lawyer of that day. He then went back to Greenup and set up practice. He had four daughters and one son. I have tried to find a male descendent but the last possible McConnell son, John Hobbs McConnell died in Louisville in 1950. The death notice says he was married but doesn't say if he had any children so I can't try for DNA. The family say the McConnells were from Londonderry and were Presbyterian but then most of them were.
Have you ever run across my John in your research? He was a state rep and a state sen in Ky. and I have his will but only his immediate family are mentioned. The will was 15 pages long.
John M. McConnell moved from Pa. to Greenupsburg, Greenup Co., KY in 1813. Practiced law and served in Kentucky House, 1822-25, and Ky. Sen., 1826-30. In 1831 he purchased 250 acres of land; built this Federal-style dwelling, another brick building for law office, a windmill, and several outbuildings. House listed on Nat'l Reg. of Historical Places. Presented by Heritage Arts, Science, & Tourism Center.
