James McConnell purchased 150 acres of land in the Greene County, Ohio area. I believe it was this James McConnell. The purchase was part of 1,000 acres awarded to John Spotswood, a Captain in the state of Virginia. John Spotswood's descendants apparently resold this to three people: Thomas Smith, Job Sharp, and James McConnell. Job Sharp came from Sussex County, Delaware. The deed was dated Sept 24, 1800.
