"The Hinkle emigrant ancestor was The Reverend Anthony Jacob Henckel - Henkel (1668-1728) born in Germany and married to Maria Elizabeth Dentzer, who was the daughter of Reverend Nicholas Dentzer, Lutheran pastor of Birkenau, Germany.
"Rev. Henckel, pioneer Evangelical Lutheran minister, emigrated from the German Paatinate to America in 1717. The name ' Henckel ' evolved to ' Hinkle ' in America.
"The McConnell line began with the marriage of Catherine, the daughter of Peter Henckel, to James mcConnell (born 1793 in Pennsylvania) who was the postmaster and constable in Berlin [Holmes County], Ohio."
Peter Henckel - Hinkle, died about 1843 in Holmes County, Ohio.
Peter was a son of George H. Henckel - Hinkle.
