[19323] The 1850 census showed him born in Ohio in 1838.

The 1870 census showed him born in Virginia

The 1880 census showed him born in Pennsylvania.

In the Civil War he enlisted twice. The first time he was a private in the reserve corps of the Missouri 5th infantry and he served one year starting on October 8, 1861 and finishing on September 4, 1862. In the second enlistment he was a corporatl in Company K, 44th Missouri Infantry. Heserved until the end of the war starting on August 4, 1864 and finishing on March 25, 1865. The Ancestry Civil War recrods show him mustering out in August, 1865.

There is a Deborah McConnell in Meigs Cemetery where he is buried with a note saying she had married Ralph McConnell. Possibly he divorced and remarried.

Per the 1900 census he was born Nov 1833 in Pennsylvania. He and both parents were born in Pennsylvania.
