L. L. McConnell Passes Away
Lloyd L. McConnell of Shelbyville passed away at 4:45 this morning in the Shelby County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 Wednesday afternoon at the Lockart and Son Funeral Home, with burial in Glenwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 am Wednesday until the time of the funeral.
Mr. McConnell was born in Shelbyville May 21, 1896, the son of Basel and Emma Berry McConnell. He was united in marriage to Clara Peifer. His wife, two brothers and two preceded him in death.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Carvil Fader of Decatur; two step-daughters, Mrs. Bertha Helton of Shelbyville and Mrs. Mongene Tally of Decatur; two step-sons, Dexter Peifer of Shelbyville and Harry Peifer of Tower Hill; 8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was a member of the Christian Church.

Mrs. Claire McConnell Dies Saturday Evening
Mrs. Claire McConnell, Shelbyville, died at 7:30 Saturday evening at the Shelby County Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Shelbyville on June 29, 1889, the daughter of Joseph and Ida Graham Mongene. In 1910, she was married to Charles L. Peifer, who preceded her in death. In 1942, she was married to Lloyd McConnell.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd, three daughters, Mrs. Irene Denning, Sullivan; Mrs. Mongene Talley, Decatur; & Mrs. Bertha Helton, Shelbyville; two sons, Charles D. Peifer, Shelbyville; & Harry W. Peifer, Tower Hill; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a brother, Ray Barton, Shelbyville. One brother preceded her in death.
Services will be 2 pm Tuesday at the Lockart & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glenwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at any time.
