James Shipley born abt 26 Nov 1790 in Wharton Twp., Fayette Co., Pennsylvania; died 1 Aug 1868 in Sullivan Co., MO. He was the son of Daniel Shipley (born ca. 1768 MO.) James married 27 Apr 1817 in Guernsey Co., Ohio, to: Lydia Burnworth. James Shipley first seen in the 1820 census at Berlin Twp., Coshocton Co., Ohio page 21A. Also listed on pg 21A were his father, Daniel shipley, and his brother, John Shipley James Shipley was listed on pg 290 in Berlin Twp., Holmes Co., OH, in the 1830 census. County of Holmes was formed from Coshocton Co., after 1820. Also listed on pg 290 is Elizabeth(Dallas) Shipley widow of John Shipley d. 1827 From Chapter 23 "The Shipleys of Maryland 2002" page 1311: In the 1850 census, he (Daniel Shipley) was in Sullivan County, MO, age 82, living with his son James."
