He also was involved in helping him hide escaped slaves as part of the underground railroad.

Funeral services for Simeon Jolly were held at the Zoar Church Thursday afternoon and were largely attended. The Rev Mr. Shriver was in charge. Pall bearers were Levi Ruddick, Albert Lewis, Lawson, Copsey, Albert Jones, Thomas Middleton, George Streit.
