Note: this is proof there was another James McConnell in Highland Co., OH other than the James McConnell who married Jane Jolly. The James McConnell who married Jane Jolly died in May 17, 1826, at age 65 years. Per newspaper articles, here are two events that took place after May of 1826:

June 15, 1826, newspaper. Six cents reward for apprentice to cabinet and joiner business, John Hicks, age 19 years, ran away from James M'Connell in Greenfield, Highland Co. on 4th inst.

March 29, 1827
James McConnell, late of Madison Twp, deceased. All those indebted to the estate are requested to pay within one year; all those with legitimate claims should present them. James McConnell and John R. Strain, Adms.

Possibly the James McConnell mentioned is the son of John McConnell, brother of Reverend James McConnell.
