According to court documents found in Botetourt County, VA, John Riddlespurger initially purchased 400 acres of land from Moses and Abraham McConnell. Since these names match the names of John McConnell's sons, possibly these were relatives of John McConnell.

Service: Service rests upon tradition, and he served as a wagoner in the patriot army. One time while under attack, he received a wound to the thigh, and was the only person to escape.
He was left handed.
