[6851] John Barclay received title to another 200 acres in 1749, next to Hugh Barclay and Robert Allison tracts; Robert and Andrew Allison acquired 200 and xoo acres respectively in that year; entries to the McConnelis began in 1744. Thomas Beard took 200 acres next to John McConnell's land in 1754; it passed to the McCommon family in 1758 Samuel McCommon was a miller, and his property was about a mile southeast of Union.
Tax list, McCONNOL, John on 17 May 1748 for 60 acres in two parcels adjoining his own land and Hugh BARKLY in Colerain Twp. -to pay £3.

Since another source (see below) also includes William and Mary, it is assumed they died before 1754.

From Saddler, Old and New Westmoreland, PA. John McConnell came from Dumfrieshire, Scotland and settled on a farm of 600 acres in what is now Colerain Township, Lancaster (then Chester) Co. A portion of the farm is owned by one of his descendants, Dr. Abraham A. McConnell of Philadelphia. David Guldin has old handwritten notes that show Elizabeth's last name was Barclay and there were seven children-- William, John, Alexander, Mary, Margaret, Martha and Daniel.
