David Wilson was a major in the American Revolutionary War. He participated in the Battle of Cowan's Ford, where it was he, along with Richard Barry, who returned the body of Gen. William Lee Davidson, killed at Cowan's Ford, to his family for burial.
Major Wilson served as one of the auditors for the Salisbury District and approved the purchase of supplies for the Militia.
