[34494] Ellis Clark homesteaded in Montana on May 22, 1909 with brothers and sisters
Alida, Jim, Georgia, and Stevanna. She took care of her mother, Sarah Jane
Clark, until she died in 1916 and she helped rear Stevanna's two sons, John
and Wilbur.

Ellis Clark was to be married to Van Marris. He froze leaving her home
in November, 1922. Ellis was at his bedside when he died. He got lost
in a snowstorm and found a hay stack and later was found and taken to
the hospital. There was an amputation and then he died. There is a
family related to him, the Glenn Marris family, living in Auburn, WA.
Ellis came back to Oconee and then to Elizabeth and Tom McConnell's home
where Mary Jane Clark was born, August 11, 1923.
