In Orphans Court on June 17, 1829 it was noted Henry Shipley, deceased on Feb 11, 1828, owned 49 acres in Springhill Twp, Fayette Co., PA, and it needed to be determined if the land could be partitioned without spoiling the whole. He had nine children-- Henry, Benedict, Amon M., Amelia, Ruth, Polly, Rachel, Elizabeth and Nancy.

In Orphans Court Book 2, Page 418, image #393. The land could not be partitioned, so it given to oldest son (Henry) and he paid the remaining wife & children.
