In the name of God, amen. I George McConnal of the County of Cumberland & state of Pennsylvania, being very sick and weak of body but of perfect mind & memory thanks be given unto God. But calling unto mind the mortality of my body & knowing it is appointed for all men once to die I do make and ordain this my last will and testament. That is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul unto the hand of Almighty God that gavest my body. I recommend to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian manner at the discretion of my execators & nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate as wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with in this life I gave demise and dispose of the same in the following manner & form. First I give and bequeath to my well beloved son James McConneal three hundred acres of land from John Herveys line along the creek to the old cabin and likewise I give & bequeath to my dutiful wife Margaret McConnal and to my daughter Elizabeth McConnal whatever remains of the plantation after James three hundred acres and to be equally divided between them both. Likewise I give & bequeath to my wife Margaret one gray filly & three cows & the black mare. Likewise I give & bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth the sorrel mare her saddle & bridle together with her bed and bedding &the household furniture to be equally divided between her & her mother. Likewise my wife must have fodder for her three cows & hay for her two horses together with Betsys mare. Likewise I give & bequeath fifty pounds due by Joseph Clark and sum land that lys between Clarks & Collins & a plantation joining the Briggs land & joining Widdow Armstrongs. Together with a plantation lying in Black Lick Settlement all to be sold & equally divided between Susannah Ramsy, Jean Ramsy, Catrin Barnet & Margaret Alexander, Nancy Stewart & Rachael Maghim. And I do likewise constitute make & ordain Margaret McConnell my wife and James McConnell my son to be the soal execators of his my estate and do hearby utterly disallow revoak and disanul all every other former testaments wills legacies bequeaths and executors by me in any wise before named ratifying this and confirming no other to be my last will & testament. In witness whereof I have thereunto lifting my hand & seal this second day of December in the year 1782. Witness present

Be it remembered on the 14th day of March 1783 the Testament and last will of George McConnal deceased was legally proven of which the foregoing record is a rue copy & letters testamentary issued in common form to Margaret McConnal widow & James McConnal on the 14th day of March 1783. Inventory & accompt to be exhibited unto the registers office at Carlisle in the time appointed by law.
