W. E. Milligan Dies
Was Helping Prepare for Church Dedication Today
Wiliam E. Milligan, 84, of 1585 E. Sedgwick St., died suddenly at 9:50 am yesterday at the Westside Nazarene Church where he was helping ready the recently-built church for dedication services today.
Coroner Phares C. Thompson said death was due to heart failure. Mr. Milligan, a resident of Decatur for 50 years, was a building contractor. He retired in 1942.
He was born in Pana on Feb. 28, 1873, a son of William and Maria Milligan. On June 10, 1894, he married Eva A. Watkins. She died Oct. 22, 1940. He married Mrs. Ruby Boyd in June 1941.
He leaves his wife, daughters, Mrs. Daisy Anderson, Mountain Home, Ark.; Mrs. Evely Walker, Decatur; step-daughter, Mrs. Ted Kerr, Bourbonnais, Ill; nine grandchildren and seven great-granchildren. One son preceded him in death.
Mr. Milligan was a member of the Westside Nazarene Church. He was chairman of its board of trustees for many years and was a past president of the Gideons.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm Tuesday in the Westside Nazarene Church, with burial in Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call at the Monson Funeral Home after 4 pm today.

Mrs. Eva Milligan, 62, Dies of Heart Ailment
Mrs. Eva A. Milligan, wife of William E. Milligan, died at 3 am today in her home at 1112 E. Moore St. She was 62 years old. Death was attributed to a heart ailment.
Born Nov. 30, 1877, in Odin, Ill, she was married to Mr. Milligan June 10, 1894, in Shelby County. She had lived in Decatur 35 years and was a member of the west Side Church of the Nazarene.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Milligan leaves two daughters, Mrs. Daisy Alexander and Mrs. Evelyn Walker; one son, Chester, all of Decatur; four brothers, Harry
Watkins of Decatur, Charles Watkins of Gregory, Mich, Frank Watkins of Wyandot, Mich, and Clifford Watkins who is in the U. S. Navy; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Coulter of Decatur and Mrs. Theora Whitaker of Long Creek; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday in the West Side Nazarene Church, with burial in Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dawson &
Wikoff funeral home after 6 pm today.

Mrs. William E. (M. Ruby Gibbs) Milligan, 89, of Maplewood, Minn, formerly of Decatur, died Monday (Oct. 12, 1981) in Maplewood Care Center. Funeral services will be in Sandberg Funeral Home, North St. Paul, Minn. Graveside services will be 11 am Monday in Fairlawn Cemetery. No visitation. Ater Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Milligan was born in Illinois, daughter of Byron and Dora Gibbs. She was a charter member of Westside Church of the Nazarene. She married William E. Milligan. He died in 1957.
Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Ted (Maxine) Kerr of North St. Paul, Minn;
two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
